The Erickson Educational Foundation
In 1964, Reed Erickson launched the Erickson Educational Foundation (EEF), a philanthropic organization funded entirely by Erickson himself. The Erickson Educational Foundation's stated goals were "to provide assistance and support in areas where human potential was limited by adverse physical, mental or social conditions, or where the scope of research was too new, controversial or imaginative to receive traditionally oriented support." Reed Erickson was born as Rita Alma Erickson in El Paso, Texas on October 13, 1917. After her father's death in 1962, Rita inherited the family business which she ran successfully until she sold it to Arrow Electronics at the end of the decade for several million dollars. In 1963, Rita Erickson became a patient of Dr. Harry Benjamin and began the process of masculinizing and living as Reed Erickson. That same year Reed Erickson also married for the first time. Over the next 30 years, Erickson married again twice and became the father to two children.

How Many Sexes? How Many Genders? When Two Is Not Enough Approximately a decade of my research with transgendered and transsexual persons is summarized in order to explore and illustrate some of the limitations in dualistic conceptualizations of gender, sex, and sexuality. In the process, I argue that increased descriptive power may be gained through the use of greater subtlety and nuancing of binary concepts of gender, sex, and sexuality. However I maintain that, ultimately, the dualistic paradigm is being stretched to the breaking point by the challenges raised by transgendered and transsexual people and that it is time for the development of new modes of thought.

The Transitional Male The T-Male is a personally owned, comprehensive, educational website for Transmen, Friends, Family and Significant others. For 12 amazing years this site has done it's best to provide information that will help fellow Transmen and FTM's transition to male as safely, sanely and expeditiously as possible without stepping too hard on the HBSOC guidelines. We here at the T-Male do not condone the use of the word 'Passing' - that word implies one is trying to be seen as something one is not. "I am passing for a ....." Get the picture?
